Your terminology kinda confuses me, but if the thing you are calling a
geoport is the thing I call an AAUI jack, the etherwave would be better if
you are netting a couple or three computers, but the  Friendly Net is fine
for a single connection. I have used both  these transceivers for a number
of years and neither has  required any drivers or other software
