I've never seen a factory 8500 with faster than a 50 MHZ bus, but have heard of people swapping chips(?) to overclock. Some of the 8500s/7500s/7600s and even a few 8600s wouldn't run with any stability even at 50 MHZ. Some would only run properly at 40-45 MHZ or so.
