Couple that with the fact that over 90% of all online crime against children and 60% of all Credit card scams are perpetuated through AOHell and you have a couple of very good reasons to switch to a *real* ISP. OK, I'll bite. I'm presently using AO-Hell, but my DSL connection is via Earthlink, which, in turn, contracts to Covad for DSL service, and which, in turn, contracts with SBC PacBell (as of today it's now called, simply, SBC) for the "last mile". I use NO Earthlink content, and my ONLY use of Earthlink, per se, is when I'm on the road, and then I use Earthlink's local (i.e., toll-free) dial network. I use NO AO-Hell content, save for e-mail and USENET access. And, AO-Hell seems to be incapable of preventing spam from an apparently infinite number of ".kr" (Korean ?) "quick buck" and porn sites, none of which I have the slightest degree of interest in. I've successfully eliminated all Earthlink and AO-Hell network-specific software from my systems (desktop AND laptop), and am using a router (desktop) or Open Transport (laptop) for all 'Net accesses.
