I only had that happen to me only about four times in like 4 years as well.  It
is not very common, but in the Netscape email program, that has never happened.
I've always had multiple email accounts.  I've used AOL, like I said before,
since version 2.6-2.7 on a Mac II.  Never stopped using it.  I have AOL 5.1 now
on my G3 and 8500/150 running 9.1.  In the last two years, I've had at least 10
pictures (from RollingStone) that I've downloaded from AOL's browser that were
unreadable by PhotoShop, QT's Picture Viewer & Graphic Converter.  I was able to
recover the contents by opening them on AOL and taking a snapshot of the screen.
I've downloaded hundreds of pictures on AOL as well that Photoshop read and just
converted easily but there are certain graphics on the net that combined with
AOL's way to handle graphics (BMPs & PCXs maybe?) that just doesn't click for
some reason.  Yet I never had any unreadable picture/graphic from IE or
Netscape.  I wonder why...
