I know what you mean. I recently subscribed to Comcast broadband internet service. I wired my house for Ethernet ahead of time so that when it became available, all I would have to do is connect the Modem to my Router and *zing* Both my kids & I would be able to get online from our own machines. When the Comcast tech showed up and saw my Mac, he sort of looked back & forth between my dual monitors and said "Ummmm...." He was holding their "install" CD, which when I asked him what was on it, he had no idea. These installers are worse than the TV Cable guys as far as how much knowledge they have. > Oh, when the memory arrives, should I try to tackle installing it > myself? Installing RAM for the first time can be one of the scariest things if you've never played around inside your Mac, but once you get the hang of it it's not too bad. Just remember - GROUND YOURSELF! Especially if you have carpeting. This means just touch the metal case or power supply to discharge any static that may have built up.
