You have to:
remove the processor daughter card
remove all PCI cards
disconnect the AV module cable (if applicable)
remove the power switch activator and LED
unplug 3.3V power, floppy, CD audio, speaker, power
supply and SCSI cables
remove retaining screw from center of logic board
pull up plastic retaining clip from top right of logic board
slide logic board back and angle out
place board on anti-static surface
install DIMMs, making sure they seat properly
(while not applying sufficient force to crack board)
reverse process for reassembly, taking care not to crack components
off logic board and making sure processor card seats completely
If becomes surprisingly automatic after a few dozen go-'rounds. But,
wait, there's more. . . the skills you've just learned carry over to
the Q800, Q840AV, PM 8100 series, the rest of the PM 8500 series, and
the PM 9500 series.
