Okay. I just checked out the G3 MT, and the case looks just like my 8600. So, I believe you can install a hard drive at the top of the case, right above the power supply. In my 8600, I have a SCSI drive hanging from the top of the case, over the power supply. You will need the mounting unit to do so.

I'd like to add another internal hard drive in the lower part of the case (with the aid of a Tempo Trio if IDE, otherwise hooked to the on-board SCSI interface).
