I have a Newer Tech G3/300 daughter card in my 7500. I am planning on
putting it in an 8500. Are there any jumpers on the mother board that I need
to adjust when I install the card?

No.

There are jumper switches on the card itself.

Yes, four of them.

Where would I find information on setting the jumpers?

If you bought the card new, an addendum was provided which described TWO of
the possible SIXTEEN settings.

The two documended settings are: 1) non-Mach mode, and 2) Mach5 mode.

As your machine is non-Mach5, leave the dip switches alone.

Will adjusting the jumpers increase the bus speed?

Yes, but this fact is not documented anywhere.

>>

Also, what is the ideal bus speed for an 8500?
>>

With the NewerTech cards, "what you get is what you get".

It is usually 46+ or 47+ MHz.

The machine will run at 50 MHz with a gen-u-wine Apple peocessor card, under
some circcumstances, but not with most third-party G3 processor cards with
integral G3 chips.

However, just as with every Mac which uses a single oscillator and a PLL plus
a "clock multiplier", the bus speed will vary with the processor speed, and
will always be 50 MHz or less.
