Hi listers !
I'm happy to report that after fighting software and hardware and
a week of illness my
attempts to make this combination to work has paid off. A recalcitrant
PCI slot was the final hurdle.
And the software works, but with some menu bar problems which I hope to
resolve.
My setup is a 7600 mobo in a 7200 case. 132 Mhz cpu, 80 Mb RAM. It
runs OS 8.6.
The printer is of course a Lexy Z35 . The interface is a Belkin USB card.
I never heard a printer this quiet.
It's barely a whisper.
My thanks go Frederick Silliman who made the extensive effort of
Stuffing and emailing all the
necessary pieces of the 8 Mb plus installation . And to Mick Ring and
Grzegorz Pawlik for their efforts and moral support.
So when you walk into Walmart and don't see any Mac printers except
USB models don't
loose heart. That non-G3 machine still has hope. Hooray for our side !
