M. Shaw,

Using sonnet Crescendo patch 2.0.1, 8600 Mach 5 mobo.
I did not do any clean install of system software
as suggested in Sonnet manual. Ive got 512 mb ram.

1) I started with 9.1. Installed Sonnet patch,
installed 9.2.1 (os9helper) and 9.2.2
(i also had a partition which already had 9.2.2 and
it installed the same)

2) I eliminated many useless extensions for me i.e.
firewire, cd burn, printers which come with 9.2
updaters

3) Installed VPC 3.0 (no problems) started it up
just so can install license key and get set-up
correct. Set RAM to 128MB

4) Installed VPC 5.0 updater and started it up
to install license key. (no problems)
4.1) started up other partition so both system
folders on each partition have VPC settings.

5) Rock'n'Roll with Autocad on VPC 5.0

Possible error generators for you:
I only have a belkin usb card in PCI slots,
pretty basic. Read xlr8yourmac Sonnet G4 reviews
and you may see some compatibility tips on
PCI cards?

I would strongly suggest emailing Sonnet.
before I got the card i bugged them with a few
questions (i.e. no problems with interleaved RAM)
and they are pretty responsive.

I have had trouble with the 2.0.2 Sonnet patch
when I try to install it, the installer crashes.
Try to use 2.0.1 if possible.
