Howdy...

Well, we just got set up with broadband. I've got a 7200, upgraded with a
7600 MB/604e-120, running 8.1. And this little Mac is doing odd things.

I gave it a static IP address in the range the router sees. And initially,
it and the router see each other, it can be pinged and ping the other
machines on the network, etc. However, it seems to have some sort of power
saving thing going on - after a while, it sleeps (to be revived with a tap
on the space bar.)

First, I don't have power saving turned on for this thing - I tend to find
them annoying <g>. But the power saver control panel says energy management
isn't installed (the extension is activated now.) And I can't find a prefs.
file to trash to get rid of this setting.

Second, apparently when it goes to sleep, the Mac side of things loses the
network completely. It does not get back on, at all. I have this
dual-booting with BeOS (seperate HD,) which sees it just fine... but the
Mac side is very much a crapshoot as to if it'll see the network afterward
or not. Usually not, or not for a long time.

Any ideas on where to look, what to do, where these things are hiding?
