I just got a 128mb stick of ram for my 7300/180/os8.1 to upgrade from
existing 64mb (192 total). I also have a 3mb Ram disk that I intended to use
for an internet browser cache, and 1024k set for the disk cache. I got
everything going fine. So, I decided to try turning off virtual memory and
rebooting. Bad idea, since the finder would not load properly and I would
have to force quit just to get the onscreen icons or anything to load, and
then the whole shebang was crippled. So I got in and turned virtual memory
back on, and now everything is fine again, except that I can't adjust the
virtual memory settings. It's either on at 189mb or off. Is this correct or
is my machine acting screwy? ................................Mike T.
