The 840 uses the DSP for audio work and still has exceptiional audio. I have
a friend who loves his 840, best Mac he ever owned, used and uses it
strictly because of its high quality audio system. Spent a lot of time
digitizing tapes, the results were outstanding. While the 9500 is a faster
system it did not have the AV focus the 840 did, the 9500 was a workstation,
and an excellent one, the 840 was an AV station, and an excellent one.
Always use the best Mac for the job at hand.
