Since yesterday, I've had no startup chime and a blank screen upon
starting up my 7600/G3 (just the LED lighting up). Recognizing that
this is due to poorly seated processor/RAM or a dying PRAM battery 99.9%
of the time, I did the following:
1. Reseated processor firmly
2. Reseated RAM
3. Changed PRAM battery
4. Reset CUDA
Still no success even after resetting processor several times. Tested
to see if the G3 processor (a Sonnet) was bad by replacing with the
stock 604e processor and concluded it wasn't the processor.
Next tested if it was bad RAM that was the problem...wasn't it either.
Today, I have been getting random freezes and had to force a restart by
pushing the reset button. The last two times I did this, the startup
chime was cut off halfway by a high pitched whine and I got the blank
screen.
Is my mobo dying?

Heok Hee
