You should be able to do it with what you have.  You need to connect 
a monitor to the video out and then startup the computer.  The video 
monitor does need to be connected at boot time for it to be used. 
You may need to check the Monitors Control Panel but I think it will 
come up using the TV.  It will use it as a second video display 
(assuming a computer monitor is attached also).  I don't know about 
using it for mirroring off hand.
