The 9500/9600  series are basically the same in operation except for the case, Power 
Supply connections and speed of CPU.
Both were designed as "business" Macs,  while the 8500/8600 series were designed for 
graphics. All of the earlier comments
apply equally to both the 9500 and 9600.

To make a "Business" Mac a "Graphics" Mac can be done by replacing the original video 
card with a video card that includes
the video in/out. Swapping the 9500 MB for an 8500 MB can also be done, but loses the 
extra 3 PCI slots.
