Correct on all counts. Not only don't the 9500/9600s have AV connectors nor support chips, they don't even have mother board video. The 9500/9600s use PCI video cards as their only video support.
That ad is incorrect. It should have read 7500, 7600, 8500 and 8600 MBs. The 7500 and 7600 won't support the video out jacks, (no video out support chips on the MB) but the module will fit and the audio/video in and the audio out will work. You can see MB diagrams at: 7500/7600 ( http://www.macgurus.com/products/motherboards/mbppc75-7600.php ) 8500 ( http://www.macgurus.com/products/motherboards/mbppc8500.php ) 8600 ( http://www.macgurus.com/products/motherboards/mbppc8600.php ) 9500 ( http://www.macgurus.com/products/motherboards/mbppc9500.php ) 9600 ( http://www.macgurus.com/products/motherboards/mbppc9600.php ) In the lower left corner of the MB diagram just above the PCI slots is a slot for the AV module. It isn't labeled in the 7500/7600 diagram, but is in the 8500/8600 diagrams. It is missing completely on the 9500/9600 diagrams, that space being used by the extra PCI slots. Leaving out the AV and video parts allowed Apple to add the additional PCI and RAM slots to the 9500/9600 MBs while still maintaining the same physical size MB as that used in the 7500/7600-8500/8600 series Macs.
