Subject: [PCI-PowerMacs] Increase Font Numbers In 7300?

At the moment, my font library (in System folder) in my 7300/G3-400
(OS 8.6, 368 RAM) will hold only a maximum of 125 or so different
fonts; if I try to add a new font, a message pops up that I'm filled
up. If I want to add a new one, I have to take one out. I have been
unable to find any extension nor preference which would allow me to
add memory or otherwise control my fonts. Any means of increasing
this number that anyone knows of?

  TIA, Fred>

I don't know what max number of system fonts is. I do know you are bogging down your
system with so many in the system fonts folder. If you remove most of these fonts from
the system fonts folder you will more than likely see a significant boost in system
performance as well.
If you use a font utility like Suitcase to open and close your fonts as needed you
will be much better off.
Good luck,
Tom
