It's not conclusive, but it is a good test as it will work even if there is a 
problem with your SCSI drives (particularly with SCSI drives) or your 
EIDE/UATA drives.

It's a good idea to have a floppy with just the System and the Finder on it. 
The whole purpose of this is to get past that part of the ROM code which 
checks for drives attached to the SCSI and/or EIDE/UATA channels.

It's OK if you get that "this system won't work on this Macintosh" message. 
Getting this far will often break loose any contention in the hard drive 
channels.
