Chris,

This is one of the easiest upgrades: pull out the old motherboard and slide
in the new one.  That's it.  The RAM and any expansion cards are all on the
motherboard: PCI & Comm Slot & Special video(?).

I have another 5200 that I upgraded to the 5500/225. It even has the special
video in, so I hooked up my VCR to it and can watch TV on it.  I can even
use my VCR/TV universal remote with it (set the remote to Sony).  Now I can
adjust the volume and power on/off the machine with the remote.  (Geeky
cool)

You can also upgrade the hard drive and CDROM, if you like, but it isn't
necessary.
