Until the last few years, virtually all bank machines ran on the incredibly reliable IBM OS/2 1.3, an operating system for which no virus ever existed. They would literally run for years without rebooting. Then banks all decided they needed cute animations and advertising more than stability, so they bought new machines that ran Windows. Where do you want to go today? Hope you don' t need cab fare. . .
