OK, so get this: I have iTunes for OS 8 loaded on my 7300, and am ripping CDs to mp3 format to make room in my overstocked CD rack. When I use my internal CD to rip, it runs at 1x speed. When I use my external USB drive, it runs at 2.5x speed, which I think is the max throughput.
Why is this? I would think the internal CD would be able to go faster. I have compared this to a Rev B iMac, and that is only able to go at 1.5x speed. What gives? -Lavode -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
