Yea, the latest'n'greatest SCSI SPI-3 standard is faster than the 
years-old Firewire 1 spec.   Then again, there are non-SCSI standards 
that are even faster. *shrug*

The context here was Desktop Macs (not high-end servers)...

Besides, 10,000 rpm hard drives stream data off their platters at 
around 230 Mbps, slower than Firewire 1 speeds...  :)
