Howdy, about a year and a half ago, I bought an 8500/120 to upgrade. I
promptly brought it home, cracked open the case and started to take it apart
(like a puzzle) to clear out the dust and familiarize myself with the
interior. I had planned to immediately upgrade it (mostly for fun, we
already had a yosemite G3 in the house). Well, I never got to it and today
I wanted to put it back together as is and start to use it while I actually
do save up for an upgrade.

I put it back together as best I could and it is powering up, but the
monitor stays dark then powers down. I tried changing the pram twice and
got the same problem (but both prams are old a '95 and a '98...have no way
of knowing if they are "good"). Then I realized cpu card wasn't seated
fully, pushed it in as far as it would go...still the same problem.

Should I just track down a new(er) pram? Or is it possible I left something
unconnected inside? I have been looking around for diagrams to the
mainboard or anything like that and I haven't had any luck. Can someone
here point me in the right direction? I'm new to upgrading macs, but I can
be fairly handy with hardware when necessary :)

Thanks in advance...
Caitlin
