Hello,
I have a PowerMac 8500, using OS 9.1 and I'm not asking a question!
I'm offering this bit of information to anyone who may need it sometime.
Two days ago I tried to get on the internet and couldn't get past
the word "connecting". I decided three things could be wrong, (1) the
phone line had gone dead, (2) the modem had failed, or (3) something had
happened to my browser. I checked the phone line and it was fine. I
called my ISP and followed all the information given me. This didn't
help so I decided I had to get a new modem. In bed that night one idea
came to me that I figured was worth a try. I knew that sometimes a
memory can be corrupted in a piece of equipment. The next morning I
turned off the computer, disconnected the modem from the power line,
waited a few seconds, reconnected the modem to the power line, turned on
the computer and tried to get on the internet. It worked fine!
I hope this helps someone.
