3. If I want to upgrade to OSX just to get a feel for the OS before I lay money down for a G4 will I need to add a new video card? Maybe a rage = 128 to replace the 2MB of onboard video memory?
Using PM8600 for OS X: I dont think so. I was using OS X with 4mb using built in video and I did not think it was bad. You can turn off some of the eye candy (somewhat) Anyhow, i did buy a video card later on when I got a deal, but it is not necessary. At least get 2 more MB of VRAM (2 1mb sticks) However I was running with a G4 accelerator card 800 Mhz which im sure helped in the usability of OS X.
