What is it ATA or IDE?

Run Apple Disk setup program and it shows up as ATA along with SCSI
bus.

This is because the IDE (Integrated Drive Electronics) is also known as
ATA (Advanced Technology Attachment) which was originally named for the
standard mass storage device bus interface on the original IBM AT
computer.

The primary advantage of an ATA bus is cost. There's no redundancy: it
doesn't have the degree of data availability that you have with others,
(SCSI).

So there you have it!
