Not so, I was able to use it fine on my 7600...but I was using a USB cd 
burner, too, and had the USB drivers installed (as well as a card). Some 
SCSI drives are supported.

In Toast there should be a way to copy a CD to a disk image. I haven't 
used toast in ages so perhaps someone else can chime in here...
