I have a PM8600/300 that still has the 604, 480MB ram, Belkin USB card, Radeon 7000 running OS 9.2.2 courtesy of OS9 Helper. Everything seems to be fine except one thing.
When I have to access the TCP/IP control panel (which recently has been quite often as my ISP keeps having trouble with cable modem IP addresses) about 50% of the time the system freezes. This happens whether I access it via the Apple menu, an alias on the desktop, and even if I go directly to the control panels folder and double click on the icon itself. I've done the whole bit with starting up with extensions disabled, etc but I can't seems to find any rhyme or reason to it. I'm at the point where I'm actually considering reverting to 9.1. I'd be interested to hear any ideas on the cause/causes of this behavior. John -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
