I'm about to try that very thing - a project from a few weeks ago
but I got waylaid by other flashings
AFAIK (credit to Jeff W) the AHA 2940UW and the AHAU2W will flash
for the mac but the U2W is a little less consistent than the UW.
There is also the question of restoring the original PC rom if the
flash for mac goes pear shaped - so it's best to save the rom out using
the PC flash utility on a PC first before replacing it with the mac rom.
The UW and U2W flash utilities are available from the Adaptec site.
I have no links for further info but I'll be trying the cards soon
on a 8500 or a 8600 or a Umax clone. Speedwise the best you can get is
80MB per sec from the U2W IF you have capable drives and without raid
striping.

     Pete
