Steve, thanks for this info. I am trying to research these options and so
far I've found that the MacWireless PCICard solution would cost me about
$130 (msrp) and I am having trouble finding prices on the "skyline" cards. I
was able to deduce that you were suggesting the Proxim brand "skyline"
family, but did Proxim rebrand this stuff as "orinico"? Because that is all
that is showing up on their online reseller links...its a bit confusing.

It looks like for $20 I could use my linksys PC card (using the IOExperts
driver)...in a PCMCIA compatible powerbook :-/ but since I need the PCI
adapter part of the puzzle, I am looking at a pretty pricey project here.
The USB version is attractive, but I do not yet have USB in my 8500 and
didn't really have plans to add it.

So, to sum up...thanks for the info, at least now I can plan AND is
"orinoco" the product family formerly known as "skyline"?

Thanks again,
Caitlin
