SCSI Probe sees the missing disk, tries to mount it but can't. Interestingly, it shows the ATA Maxtor ID as SCSI 2, ID 0 which is what I recall it was before the problem. The 8.6 ASP and Drive Setup say it is SCSI 2, ID 2 ? ('Course the jumpers have been swapped sooo many times now.) Drive Setup can't mount it either.
I'm still hoping for some miracle breakthrough on this Maxtor drive problem.
Have you tried APS Power Tools, APT 4.0.9, Hard Disk ToolKit*PE
LaCie Utilities, Lido or Mt. Everything 1.1.1?
I sometime have to run through them all. I also have had luck using Norton's Disk Doctor.
