One of the great advantages of a ATA PCI card in the 7500-9600 is not just
the ability to use ATA Drives (which in my experience can't exceed 24MB/SEC
or so in a 7500) but CD/DVD drives like the Toshiba which can boot OS 9 and
OS X and plays DVDs. Which boards will support ATA drives with the Apple
standard CD/DVD driver and which require third-party drivers like SpeedTools?
Also, which ATA cards have people successfully installed OS X on and booted
from. THANKS
