Kenta, when the driver is disabled, the CD spins but does NOT freeze (as when the driver is enabled). So...I am unclear, does this mean that the freezing is related to mounting or hardware? ASP reports the following in relation to this drive: Driver Version: Not available (even when driver is enabled in EM) Vendor: MATSHITA Prod ID: CD-ROM CD-8008 Serial #: not avail I can also try the logic board hard reset suggested by Robert tonight...
