I have a 7600 connected to my network whose only job is to do
backup. It's set to come on automatically (in my case once a week)
and back up all the data to a file on its hard disk--it looks for
data labelled for backup on each of the other computers
on the network. Dantz Retrospect is installed on the backup computer, with
the others as Retrospect Clients. You could set it to shut off
automatically when finished, but in my case I leave it running so that
I can also do some backups to removeable disks at the same time.
This is really kind of cool. There was a very good article on
how to do this in MacWorld, I think a couple of years ago. (On their
site you could search for articles on backup, or look for a section
on using older computers.)
