there is no mumbo jumbo about it, I installed from the original 9.1 
ibook cd, following the instructions on the screen.
but all install cds are not alike ... ! that was my point that it is 
not impossible to run an9.1 on pm7300 , you don't have to force it.
you choose universal install or for this computer - (as usual I don't 
know the english words for the menu choices.)
  there is no trick - no freemason handshake.
different OS cds were made differently, that's what I've heard - You 
just have to find one that works. &

you can't update 8.6 to 9.x .  you have to make a full install of 9 
and then update it further.




the procedure ?
do you want to know what boxes to check or uncheck ? pretty much the 
same as OS 8.6 i would say.
