In spite of the difficulties , I installed OS 9.1 over a clean install of 9.0.4 on a
7500/G3 but the
installers and the new OS didn't like the drivers on an external Compac branded
Barracuda which was
initialized using a hacked Drive Setup v 1.6.1. Otherwise, the installation continued
successfully.
When checking the new OS9 volume with Disk First Aid or the Directory Structure with
Disk Warrior
the results were O.K.
When choosing the OS9 volume as a startup disk in the SD Control panel, the OS9 volume
beeps when
chosen to perform the startup. It highlights when I get the beep but the selection
doesn't stick. I
end up starting with a OS8.6 on the internal bus.
My question is, what is keeping the OS9.1 volume from starting the machine?
Thanks, Roman
