Hi Could someone very basically explain to me what is the difference between ATA - ATAPI - IDE etc. I am looking at adding a HD and CDRW to my 8600 Sonnet Crescendo G3 300 and am confused as to the card I need. I have a Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 60GB ATA 133 HDD and a LaCie CD-RW that says it takes a IDE connector. The HD came with a Maxtor ATA/133 PCI card but from the software and their website it seems the card is for Windoze only. I guess I'd have to format the HD for Macintosh. The CDRW was supposed to be for a Mac. It says ROM Ver: 5.32
