Both are available. For a single drive, an ACARD "IDE SCSI Bridge" card is available for about $80. For multiple drives, any one of a number of solutions are available: VST UltraTek/66, ACARD UATA/66 (several variations), ACARD UATA/100 (several variations), ACARD UATA/133 (several variations), Sonnet UATA/66, Sonnet UATA/100, Sonnet UATA/133, SIIG UATA/100, SIIG UATA/133, and the infamous Sonnet "Trio" (UATA/133 plus USB plus Firewire). Of all of these, the one which makes the most sense for a 7600 class machine is any of the UATA/66 cards. This is also the least cost solution. I have VST UltraTek/66 in all of my pre-Beige G3 PCI Macs, but I have also all of the other UATA/66 cards (plus the short-lived ProMax TurboMax UATA/33 card). The ACARD "Bridge" is limited to UATA/33 internally, but externally it is 40 MB/sec. An UW-SCSI version of the "Bridge" is also available, and this works very well in all-UW machines, such as my Beige G3 server, where all the high performance data is on true UW-SCSI (LVD/SE) drives, and the medium performance data is on the "Bridge". -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
