I sure miss the good old days, Napster, then Audiogalaxy. It's a constant hassle for file sharing, anymore. Guess there's some new, maybe good stuff for OSX, but I'm not ready for it, yet. Absolutely hate Limewire. Had some success with Mactella a few years ago, then nothing. I generally run iSwipe and Drumbeat together. Drumbeat is a huge memory cludge and handles files quite poorly, i.e., it will blindly overwrite files, and will not continue a download. But it nicely queues files for download. iSwipe is a nice broad base file sharing app, (tho I've never managed to share a single file with it). It's got a better than average search engine, queues Hotline nicely, manages Gnutella better than anything else I've ever tried, and searches several other platforms. It handles files very well, but has some bugs that bother some configurations, I guess. Some folks have alot of trouble with it. My system is handling it well, these days. It won't queue napster files, so I run it with Napster off. Have recently tried 2get at <http://sourceforge.jp/projects/twoget/> for napster stuff. Have had mixed results, but good enough to keep trying. It's not the memory monster Drumbeat is, and handles files better. But I still get more downloads from Drumbeat. Support is poor only because I don't speak Japanese. But they do a lot, I mean a lot of updates. And I like the way they allow you to handle the network servers. They get a great server list and you can pretty responsively choose. Lotsa pluses and minuses around, Too many minuses. -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
