How to get my onboard video (rca & s video) support back! - There's gotta be a hack by now .....right? tell me it's so.
Here's the problem:
8600/300 with sonnet 500/1m, 1 gig ram, ata 133, 5 port usb, 4 ide (2-40gig & 2-60gig )drives and the original scsi., 24x cdrom, 12x cdrw, 17in apple vision. Used os9 helper to install 9.2.2 (on the original scsi) and then Xpostfacto to use JAG ( on one of the 60 gig drives) . I've never really had a operational problem, everything runs great. Never had a crash, freeze, etc. But I lost the on board video capabilities of the 8600 (big bummer!) and i'd like to have it back. I'm pretty sure it's just not supported under 9.2.2 or above since the whole machine isn't "officially" either. Anyone know of a hack? or even which software to use with 9.2.2. or X.? I've been looking at the usual suspects websites; xpostfacto, xlr8, os9forever, but none seems to address the issue of losing the onboard video. That usb video capture from xlr8 looked pretty cool untill I saw the $ tag for what amounts to an adaptor cable ($90). And people are still shooting each other for the exclaim VR card on ebay. - just not that much of a cowboy with the credit card anymore. So what's one to do????? Going back to 9.1 is not an option at this point.
Thx.
