Converting text is simple enough but you have to be able to read the
disk. Brother was a typewriter style word processor. If memory serves me
right they stored the data in AS II format IBM readable. Drop the disk
in a PC and see if you can bring it up in MS Word by using the Word
converter.

If you need an emulator to get to Mac from the PC check your Google
search engine and a long ways into the search, four or five hundred
pages back, you will find the free ones instead of paying fifty to a
hundred dollars.
