My experiance has been completely the opposite. On my
machine at work (8500/250G3/288ram/9gig SCSI via ATTO
PCI card/OS9.2.1), Mozilla 1.2.1 has been very stable
and worked better with the java features of pages I
visit often. 1.0.2 was slower and had more issues for
me.

Also, from the Mozilla website:

"Netscape 7.02 is the latest Netscape commercial
distribution of Mozilla 1.02, which includes some
proprietary code including an AIM client. Its UI is
tuned for end users rather than development."
