You want an "N+1" power supply system, right?

No way with the 8500 power supply design.

Apple's ANS 700 offered an N+1 option. Plug-in power supplies, too.

Now, if you had a Beige G3 there would be something out there for you as the 
G3 MT systems utilize a conventional ATX power supply, and there are several 
N+1 solutions for ATX machines.
