Hi,
The IPNRouter thread got me thinking. Yes, it happens sometime :-)
I have an iMac 333, a 7500/180, a 7200/120 and a LC 575 with an ethernet card. And I will add soon a 7300/180...
Also a HP deskjet 3820 with a USB connector & a HP LaserJet III with an AppleTalk connector.
Right now the iMac is connected to the DJ 3820 through the USB port and to the LJ III through the ethernet port from the LC575 (LC 575 connected to the LJ III trough its appletalk connector with a free Apple AppleTalk bridge soft that I found on Apple web site). With this set up, both the 3820 and LJ III appear in the iMac' chooser.
I am in a rural area, so no cable or any highspeed connection at the moment.
And my wife wants access to internet.
When I access Internet with the iMac internal modem all communication are blocked on the phone. I mean we cannot receive or make a phone call...
First Question:
What is the best and hopefully cheapest way to have the iMac and one of the other PPC (I will call it wife-Mac) connected at the same time to internet, with both (iMac and wife-Mac) having access to the printers, and both Mac also networked together (I mean being able to have the hard drive of one appearing on the desktop of the other).
The wife-Mac will have to use the iMac internal modem? I have an external Supra Express 56K but since I cannot have 2 modem online at the same time...
Second Question:
Same as above (iMac & wife-Mac) plus all the remaining Macs being networked together. Also a scanner, dig camera, ext hard drive, CD ROM burner...
I am in digest mode on this list.
Thanks all,
JCT
