The Unix time-base is Jan 1, 1970. IOW your clock is not retaining the time.
the machine has a new pram battery
Your replacement battery could be week. Or, when you last replaced it, did you reset the power manager properly? If not, then it will suck the battery dry in a few weeks or months...
