7600, PowerLogic G3/4, 360mHZ running 9.0.4 on one drive (9G) and 8.6 on
another (3G). I am wondering why my Apple Video Player causes a general
freeze when I try to capture more than about 5 minutes of film off a VCR
tape. This happens particularly when I have done a few successful captures
and saves. It is as if the memory is not cleared properly. Anyone use this
old software? I have VM turned off on the 8.6 disk (as recommended for this
software) and have tried set the monitor to thousands and even a few times
to greyscale (to cut down on processing load). I have given it much more
memory than it recommends even. I have plenty of memory, all consistent
branded and all 64K filling all slots, all tried and tested in practice for
a long time. I assume that when this software is capturing things, it does
this in RAM. I don't capture so much that the products are ever more than 3
or 400 MB. Have nothing else running. When I run on with VM on, things are
not improved it seems. Anyone use this software that I can pester?
