http://eshop.macsales.com/Catalog_Item.cfm?ID=2907&Item=STIPPCG3400512 is a
G3/400/512 cache for $95.99. You can probably find an XLR8 ZIF carrier card
and a G3 as slow as 233 mhz for less on eBay or the LEM swap list. The
price difference between the slower and the 400 mhz G3s is usually minimal
and the 400s are a minimum for a lot of the newer games out there. The 1 Meg
L2 Cache usually adds more to the price than the faster CPU speed. The 1
Meg L2 is noticeably faster than the 512 at the same CPU speed, but a
400/512k is much faster than a 233/512k (did they even make a 233 or 266 /
1meg?) and slightly faster than a 300/1 meg. (I have all and have compared
them side by side in almost identical PCI Macs.
