What I really want to know though, is what happened to all the "ambient light/screen calibrater" gizmos that were suppose to have come with these monitors to deal with wysiwyg issues? Anyone have one they want to part with?

No, no chime! I forgot to mention this. In fact, it is the thing that I
found the most dismaying. The sense of loss, the lack of that friendly,
informative, melodious heralding of a session ... I feel, quite glum for a
while when I use the 7300 (a spare). But then, when the speakers beep and
bong and ... well they are impressive and deep ... I cheer up.
