I have been doing some research lately on personal encryption software, both for e-mail and for files/disks. There seems to be little info out there, both for PC and Mac (of course, more for PC than Mac).
I was wondering what software, if any, the LEM community uses or feels is the best. Both Mac and PC software packages, and as far as Mac software goes, for OS 9.x and OS X.
PGPFreeware will run on both, GnuPGP will run on windows and OSX
This is because I'd like to keep my private keys, passwords/passphrases, and other sensitive items on a CD, and encrypt it so nobody but myself can use them, but all I have to do is put the disc in the drive and use the keys & stuff normally.
Of course I may have to have a disc for Mac systems and a disc for PC systems (unless I go with PC-only CD and translate it on the Mac).
Burn the cd on an OSX box, and you automatically end up with a hybrid disk usable on both PC and Macs.
